Rust Dress + A Poem on Solitude

Solitude 

 Fear gripped me as you opened the door to my unknown heart 

Filling my time with to-dos so that I wouldn’t fall apart 

 Your silence cut like a knife 

And all that I could do in it was remember my childhood of strife 

 No! I would avoid you. I would run far from you I would cling to people that my heart didn’t belong to 

 Hide me you, hide me you. See how wide I smile so you don’t see the blue?

 But alas, I could run no longer..and embracing you would only make me stronger 

 Now I sit quietly in your arms as you gently peel the layers back

Afraid of what I might find you showed me that there was nothing I lacked 

The beauty was always there...now I handle her with care and I owe it all to you...solitude.
